Industrial Hygienist / Environmental Scientist (Environmental Engineering)

Location: Woburn, Massachusetts office; travel throughout Massachusetts and New England and commuting to project sites are required

Salary: USD $23.10–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect buildings and sites for asbestos, mold, lead-based paint, and PCBs.
• Investigate water intrusion and water leaks.
• Oversee and coordinate contractors during abatement projects.
• Collect air samples, prepare chain-of-custody documentation and daily project logs.
• Prepare project reports and read specifications and drawings.
• Coordinate communication between clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• 1–10 years of experience in hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, or industrial hygiene.
• Current or prior certification as an Asbestos Inspector and Project Monitor is required.
• Associate degree or higher in a science- or engineering-related field.
• Experience with various aspects of abatement projects and the ability to read project specifications and drawings.
• Strong verbal communication, adaptability, teamwork, and a consultative approach to client needs.
• Valid driver's license, ability to commute to project sites, pass background, drug, physical, and motor vehicle checks, and use required safety equipment.
