Entry-Level Industrial Hygienist

Location: Kemah, Texas, United States. The role involves frequent and sometimes extended travel, emergency response, outdoor and project-site work, and a flexible environment spanning remote, office, and project locations.

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, plus a 5% annual bonus.

What you will do

• Perform supervised qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene and safety surveys, air sampling and monitoring, noise surveys, and indoor air quality surveys.
• Review and prepare material safety data sheets and project- or site-specific health and safety plans.
• Support industrial hygiene and environmental assessments under the guidance of project managers and senior industrial hygienists.
• Manage and evaluate scientific and technical data for toxicology, litigation support, risk assessment, disaster recovery, and emergency response projects.
• Collect, analyze, report, and act on data from air, soil, water, and other sources.
• Maintain compliance with company, client, state, federal, and local environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, safety, or a related science field such as chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, or toxicology; alternatively, at least three years of industrial hygiene or safety-related experience.
• Completion of an approved industrial hygiene course within one year of employment when required by the education or experience pathway.
• HAZWOPER, DISA, and TWIC clearances are required; each may be obtained after hire.
• A current driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport are required.
• Computer and data management skills in a Windows-based environment, multitasking ability, and capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to travel frequently, respond to emergency projects, wear respirators and PPE, and work in physically demanding and hazardous environments.
