Environmental Technician (Environmental)

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; onsite field work with travel required

Salary: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Lead field staff by providing training, direction, and support.
• Operate field monitoring equipment and conduct environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing, and basic evaluation.
• Document field results, prepare daily reports and data sheets, and enter inspection data into Word and Excel spreadsheets.
• Perform operations and maintenance on environmental treatment equipment, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical system issues.
• Complete chain-of-custody documentation, label and preserve samples, deliver samples to environmental laboratories, and manage hazardous-material and waste disposal.
• Manage a portfolio of 25–35 projects, including revenue projection, invoicing, client communication, and coordination with Project Managers.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing, and basic evaluation.
• Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record and ability or willingness to travel.
• Ability to complete and maintain 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and annual 8-hour refresher training.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, work independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic document handling, problem solving, organization, and time/project management.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of relevant environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing, and evaluation experience.
• Familiarity with drilling supervision.
• Familiarity with the FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program.
