TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer I or II (Aerospace Manufacturing): Developing and improving manufacturing methods, processes, tooling, and product manufacturability for aerospace and defense systems with an accent on cost effectiveness, process reliability, and production support. Focus on identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, evaluating design changes and equipment, and building business cases for capital and process improvements.

Location: On-site in Lynnwood, Washington, United States

Salary: Level I: $88,000–$101,000 annual USD; Level II: $100,000–$117,000 annual USD.

What you will do

  • Design and improve manufacturing methods, procedures, layouts, workflows, fixtures, and tooling supporting production.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive product and cost improvements.
  • Review customer specifications, statements of work, new product designs, design changes, and manufacturing change requests.
  • Evaluate production facilities, equipment, materials, non-conformances, and make-or-buy or quotation cost analyses.
  • Develop operating instructions, manufacturing metrics, procedures, and training for assemblers and operators.
  • Prepare ROI analyses and business cases for capital equipment, new products, process development, and productivity improvements.

Requirements

  • Level I: 0–2 years of manufacturing engineering or internship experience; Level II: 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Practical knowledge of modern production principles, material characteristics and processing, chemicals, and basic electrical, mechanical, fluid, and heat-transfer systems.
  • Experience with CAD software and the ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels.
  • Only US Persons will be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required under ITAR.
  • Availability for overtime and a flexible schedule supporting production is required.

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
