Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace & Defense): Developing manufacturing plans, tooling, documentation, and process improvements for military aerospace mechanical and electromechanical components with an accent on machining, assembly, quality, and compliance. Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 per year, based on skills, education, and experience.

What you will do

  • Create manufacturing plans, bills of material, drawings, route sheets, work instructions, and test procedures from customer and Mil-DoD engineering requirements.
  • Support production and troubleshoot assembly, machining, testing, repair, and quality issues.
  • Design and deploy tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve production processes.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturing improvements that reduce product cost and manufacturing time.
  • Prepare engineering changes, review controlled documents, and support MRB activities and Quality System compliance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality teams, vendors, customers, and company representatives; provide assembler and operator training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in Mil-DoD and aerospace manufacturing, focused on mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies.
  • Experience with CAD, preferably Creo/ProE, manufacturing planning, tooling, fixtures, materials, metals processing, casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and metal finishing.
  • Experience interpreting MIL-STD documents, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5; performing basic measurement and inspection; and writing engineering reports.
  • Fluent English reading and writing required.
  • Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR export-control requirements: U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, political asylees, or refugees. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs is required.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on knowledge of HVAC and diesel engine systems.
  • ERP experience, especially SAP.
