Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing processes for internal and external projects from proposal transition through production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications, tooling, and test documentation.
• Investigate process failures, solve manufacturing problems, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, customers, operators, inspectors, and shop-floor supervisors to ensure production viability.
• Implement lean manufacturing, standard work, Kaizen activities, process improvements, and manufacturing cell layouts.
• Lead CAPEX/CAR initiatives involving manufacturing equipment, machinery, and automated inspection systems while tracking production milestones.

Requirements

• BS or MS in engineering, preferably mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or related experience with multipart mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
• At least 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Project management, planning, documentation, execution, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems using formal problem-solving tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with SolidWorks, 3D modeling, assembly creation, engineering drawings, GD&T, design for manufacturing, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Familiarity with aerospace and defense, AS9100, ISO 9001, or another heavily regulated industry, plus willingness to provide daily shop-floor support and become a process subject matter expert.
