Engineering Associate (Telecommunications)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; local travel and recurring field visits are required.

What you will do

• Support engineering and site design for macro and small cell locations, tower compounds, and telecommunications facility upgrades.
• Design conduit routes and fiber optic networks across public rights-of-way and private property.
• Prepare and review construction drawings before final professional engineer review.
• Attend site walks and field visits, perform measurements, surveys, audits, and third-party inspections.
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, municipalities, contractors, landlords, and multidisciplinary project teams to maintain project schedules and approvals.
• Provide project status updates and maintain internal and client databases and project trackers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred; a B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology is a plus.
• 0–2 years of experience in a professional engineering environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 is required; Civil 3D 2018 is preferred.
• Understanding of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Ability and willingness to travel locally and perform field-based site visits.
