TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer III (Aerospace): Developing and improving manufacturing systems, production processes, tooling, and product manufacturability with an accent on cost effectiveness, process reliability, and regulated aerospace production. Focus on leading interdisciplinary projects, solving manufacturing problems through root-cause analysis, developing ROI cases for capital equipment, and training production personnel.

Location: On-site in Lynnwood, Washington, United States. The position may require access to ITAR-controlled data; where such access is required, only US Persons will be considered.

Salary: $126,975–$149,052 annual USD.

What you will do

  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, procedures, processes, layouts, workflows, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Lead interdisciplinary manufacturing projects and implement cost-reduction and product-improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Review customer specifications, statements of work, product designs, design changes, and manufacturing change requests.
  • Evaluate production equipment, facilities, materials, non-conformances, and make-or-buy or quotation cost analyses.
  • Develop operating instructions, manufacturing metrics, business cases, and training for assemblers, operators, and junior manufacturing engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • Practical knowledge of modern production principles and methods in high-technology manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of material characteristics and processing, chemicals, and basic electrical, mechanical, fluid, and heat-transfer systems.
  • Experience with CAD software and the ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Lynnwood, Washington; US Person eligibility may be required for ITAR-controlled work.

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
