Environmental Specialist (Environmental Services)

Location: Santee, California, United States; onsite

Pay range: $75,000–$103,050 per year, with the actual range determined by the hiring locality.

What you will do

• Collect, track, analyze, and report environmental monitoring data and maintain facility operating records.
• Conduct stormwater compliance inspections, sampling, reporting, and training under facility SWPPPs and the Industrial Storm Water General Permit.
• Support site audits, monthly environmental reports, regulatory communications, and compliance task tracking.
• Conduct and supervise landfill monitoring and the operation and maintenance of gas extraction and leachate management systems.
• Oversee environmental vendors and coordinate environmental projects, including construction progress and compliance tracking.
• Provide environmental training to technicians, landfill managers, and other employees.

Requirements

• Four years of knowledge and/or experience related to environmental science, engineering, geology, or a related science.
• Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations covering air, water, solid waste, and material recovery or recycling.
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to interpret business documents, technical procedures, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, follow company policies, and promote safety standards.
