Director, Procurement Operations (Pharma)

Location: Lake Zurich, Illinois, United States; onsite work required 3 days per week

Salary: $181,000–$187,000 annually, plus eligibility for a 16% annual bonus and a medium-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead US procurement operations and represent the country in executive, global governance, audit, and supplier forums.
• Oversee Source-to-Pay and Procure-to-Pay processes, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls, and operational performance.
• Manage strategic and high-risk supplier relationships, including scorecards, service levels, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation.
• Drive procurement transformation programs, including the US SAP Ariba deployment, PTP Productivity, S2C Excellence, Elevate, and FTP Excellence initiatives.
• Lead enterprise-wide change management and ensure global procurement frameworks are adapted to local processes and systems.
• Build a high-performing procurement organization through leadership appointments, succession planning, performance management, and capability development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English; C1 proficiency required.
• At least 10 years of procurement or supply chain experience, including 5 years leading direct and indirect categories.
• Experience with procurement operations, strategic sourcing, negotiations, cost modeling, contract management, budgeting, forecasting, and operational risk.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC, SAP Ariba, analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and procurement governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of GxP supplier qualification, SOX controls, CSV/Part 11, anti-bribery requirements, privacy and information-security clauses, ESG, and supplier sustainability.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a related field.
• CIPS, CPSM, PMP/PRINCE2, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with TPRM and supplier risk-scoring platforms.
