Category Manager (Flexible Packaging)

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, USA; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

Salary: $91,200–$210,000 gross annual range depending on U.S. pay zone, location, experience, skills, and responsibilities; eligible for incentive plans

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies for approximately $100M in flexible packaging and other direct materials spend.
• Identify and lead initiatives that improve cost, quality, supply assurance, and value delivery.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, supplier evaluations, performance, agreements, SLAs, pricing files, and category documentation.
• Monitor market dynamics, commodity trends, competitive landscapes, standards, and pricing strategies.
• Lead RFPs, RFQs, sourcing events, award recommendations, and negotiations of commercial terms and contracts.
• Bridge R&D, Procurement, Business Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain while supporting resolution of Procure-to-Pay issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing direct materials categories in a global, matrixed environment, preferably in packaging, raw materials, chemicals, or specialty materials.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, plus experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with RFPs, cost models, should-cost or clean-sheet analysis, negotiations, contracts, sourcing methodologies, and supplier performance management.
• Ability to present recommendations and insights to senior and executive stakeholders, influence decisions, drive accountability, and lead change.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and supplier agreement negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, and MRP systems; SAP is preferred. Ability to travel up to 25%.

• Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT to improve productivity, synthesize insights, and accelerate analysis and content development.
