Senior Liability Trial Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: NY - Tarrytown, United States; regular attendance at court events, depositions, and other appointments is required, with travel as needed.

Annual base salary: $132,800–$219,100, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage higher-exposure cases and complex litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try jury cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation skills.
• Conduct legal research; draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive documents.
• Attend hearings, trials, depositions, court events, and other legal appointments.
• Develop case strategies with expert witnesses and consultants and provide recommendations to insured clients and Claims partners.
• Mentor attorneys and legal support staff, deliver training, and support office and business initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Proven experience litigating jury trials, with strong courtroom outcomes and advocacy skills.
• Advanced oral and written communication, legal research, negotiation, and case analysis abilities.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) where representation is required.
• Ability to attend hearings, trials, depositions, and other proceedings in person; a valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
