Trial Attorney - Insurance Defense

Location: Remote for candidates residing in Fresno County, California; travel to job-related litigation activities is required.

Salary: $117,700–$194,700 per year, plus potential annual incentive pay of up to 24% of base salary.

What you will do

• Handle insurance defense litigation and other legal assignments under Law Department guidelines.
• Own cases and develop trial strategies throughout the litigation process.
• Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings.
• Attend trials, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Meet with clients and collaborate with attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

• 0–10+ years of litigation experience; experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable discovery rules, trial procedures, and substantive law appropriate to the level of experience.
• Trial, mediation, deposition, file ownership, and effective written and oral communication skills.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active California law license and membership in good standing with the State Bar of California required.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Jury trial experience.
• Experience as an Assistant Public Defender or District Attorney.
