Financial Reporting Manager (Energy)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Houston, Texas headquarters, United States.

What you will do

• Lead the preparation, review, and coordination of quarterly and annual SEC filing sections and joint venture GAAP financial statements.
• Manage consolidated financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, statements of cash flows, guarantor financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review XBRL tagging, financial disclosures, tie-outs, checklists, and quarterly earnings release materials.
• Administer SEC filing processes through Wdesk and analyze consolidation data using Excel, Lawson, Essbase, and Oracle Hyperion HFM.
• Research technical accounting and emerging reporting requirements, resolve complex issues, and recommend solutions to management.
• Coordinate audits and cross-functional projects while improving reporting controls, data quality, automation, and team performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, SEC reporting, and reporting process management.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, with a general understanding of the energy industry.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record required for travel; dependable attendance and flexibility for non-traditional hours are expected.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or a master’s degree in business.
• Experience with XBRL structure and tagging, HFM, Workiva, Lawson, or FERC financial reporting.
