Principal Test Engineer (Aerospace): Leading complex system testing and verification activities for next-generation airborne command and control aircraft with an accent on test planning, systems integration, and safety risk management. Location: Dayton, OH, United States. Work takes place in an office, lab, hangar, or offsite environment; occasional travel may be required. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

What you will do
- Lead strategic planning for complex test initiatives and projects.
- Develop and implement testing methodologies and processes that evolve with design maturity through post-production follow-up.
- Plan, conduct, and document system testing and Verification and Validation activities for communications, computing, navigation, and surveillance equipment.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and mentor test engineering teams.
- Oversee critical test execution and peer reviews of test documentation.
- Manage test-event sequencing, safety risks, mitigations, and stakeholder coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- 14+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
- Extensive knowledge of advanced testing principles, engineering practices, requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
- Progressive experience leading multidisciplinary design and development teams.
- Demonstrated expertise planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation activities.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Nice to have
- Graduation from a recognized Test Pilot School.
- Experience with testing equipment, standards, manual and automated testing, and complex test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Experience with product and quality assurance, non-conformance disposition, and certification testing for organizations such as the FAA, NASA, or DoD.
- Experience testing to MIL-STD-810, DO-160, or similar standards.
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry, including reading schematics and troubleshooting.
