Senior Flight Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, United States; moderate travel under 20%; core hours 0900–1500.

What you will do

• Manage planning, coordination, and execution of complex ground and flight test programs for aircraft platforms and systems.
• Develop and coordinate flight test plans, procedures, test cards, objectives, performance criteria, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, AFRL test organizations, test units, contractors, users, and program offices.
• Monitor test execution, contractor performance, vendor deliverables, costs, schedules, risks, and compliance.
• Analyze flight test data, evaluate system functionality, and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
• Provide technical briefings and status updates to government leadership, program managers, contractors, and industry representatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of test and evaluation experience focused on Air Force acquisition programs or comparable Department of Defense systems.
• Experience with requirements verification and validation, event planning and execution, model-based systems engineering, risk management, project scheduling, and requirements management tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with military contracting processes and defense contractors to meet Air Force requirements.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret clearance and at least 2 years of experience with SCI programs.
• DAWIA Test and Evaluation certification and experience with prototyping, experimentation, software integration, or autonomous systems.
• Experience with Collaborative Combat Aircraft platforms, air-to-air refueling test and evaluation, and related architectures.
