Director, Financial Analysis (Insurance)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $104,000–$171,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Lead the development and execution of multi-year and annual plans, forecasts, and month-end close activities.
• Model and present monthly and projected financials, explaining trends and business impacts to stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Direct complex financial analyses and convert reports into actionable recommendations for business strategy.
• Validate data and analyses, identify gaps and limitations, and recommend alternative approaches.
• Lead projects involving complex financial reporting and regulatory changes, including reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions.
• Manage, coach, mentor, and develop finance professionals, including performance management and talent acquisition activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; an MBA concentration, CPA, CMA, or comparable advanced professional education is also relevant.
• At least five years of experience in finance, financial planning, accounting, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of financial analysis concepts, processes, applications, and accounting principles; property and casualty insurance experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, leadership, mentoring, and employee development skills.
• Experience leading multiple complex projects and translating data and systems analysis into business impacts.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and financial reporting software such as TM1, Essbase, or Hyperion.
