Parts Specialist (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Assigned to shop locations in West Valley City, Utah, United States; onsite maintenance shop environment.

What you will do

• Source, order, receive, track, and document parts for heavy equipment and on-highway truck maintenance.
• Maintain vendor relationships, compare pricing, confirm lead times, and resolve delivery or invoice discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory levels, organize storage, and standardize receiving, stocking, issuing, and documentation procedures.
• Track small tools and consumables, including checkout, return, repair, replacement, and loss prevention.
• Collaborate with the Shop Superintendent, Equipment Manager, mechanics, technicians, and vendors on equipment needs and workflow.
• Identify improvements that strengthen parts flow, reduce downtime, and increase shop efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience supporting heavy equipment or on-highway truck maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of parts sourcing, ordering, receiving, inventory control, and documentation.
• Ability to review invoices, resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies, and track spending.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, time management, and follow-through.
• Ability to learn equipment-specific electronic parts catalogs and ordering software.
• High school diploma or equivalent education and a valid driver's license required.
