Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $122,000–$212,750 annual base pay

What you will do

  • Advise on communications for established-products milestones, including divestitures, delistings, product transitions, regulatory breakthroughs, label updates, and other lifecycle events.
  • Coordinate with global therapeutic-area communications teams and partners to assess upcoming milestones and determine proactive communications or issues support.
  • Develop scalable playbooks, templates, message maps, trackers, and governance processes for established-products communications.
  • Connect enterprise reputation and external-engagement priorities with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer’s work.
  • Lead communications strategy for the Johnson Medals and Dr. Paul Janssen Award, including messaging, announcements, amplification, and post-event storytelling.
  • Support cross-therapeutic-area communications, executive visibility, media engagement, stakeholder alignment, and communications measurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; communications, public affairs, public health, policy, business, science, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare communications, public affairs, corporate reputation, product communications, executive communications, issues management, or agency/advisory roles.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong writing, editing, message development, project management, media relations, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific, medical, regulatory, or business information for external audiences and support senior leaders on sensitive, high-visibility priorities.
  • Ability to operate in a global organization, align multiple partners, manage approvals, and deliver integrated communications across regions and audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience with medical affairs, established products, lifecycle management, portfolio communications, therapeutic-area communications, or scientific awards.
  • Experience with communications analytics, brand reputation management, mentoring, and talent development.
