TL;DR
Electrical Engineer III (Aerospace): Designing and analyzing DC/DC power converters and filters for spaceflight and high-reliability applications with an accent on radiation-tolerant circuitry, analog control design, and system integration. Focus on modeling complex power topologies, developing hardware through product delivery, and supporting customer specifications, testing, and technical reviews.

Location: Lynnwood, Washington, United States; onsite in an office and manufacturing environment. Access to controlled data may require US Person status under ITAR.

Salary range: $137,036.35–$161,548.00 per year.

What you will do

  • Design and analyze DC/DC power converters, filters, control circuitry, and related high-reliability hardware.
  • Model and simulate circuit and system performance using analytical tools.
  • Develop radiation-tolerant or radiation-hardened discrete analog circuitry for spaceflight applications.
  • Integrate, test, and develop DC power conversion hardware from prototype through product delivery.
  • Translate customer and market specifications into design requirements and prepare technical documentation.
  • Act as a technical interface for customers, support technical meetings, and potentially lead engineering teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in microelectronic DC/DC power conversion and control system design.
  • Experience with radiation effects on components and circuits and high-reliability hardware development.
  • Knowledge of complex DC/DC topologies, discrete analog circuit design, power electronics, temperature compensation, radiation-tolerant components, magnetic design, and planar magnetics.
  • Experience with analog modeling tools such as Symetrix, SIMPLIS, Ansys Maxwell, Mathcad, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Strong documentation, organization, time management, teamwork, mentoring, and complex project leadership skills.
