Sr. Power Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $170,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the development of vehicle power electronics from clean-sheet design through flight, including solar power conversion, battery management, power distribution, load management, and voltage regulation.
• Develop PCBA requirements, use cases, and system integration plans.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts for power and analog circuits using Altium Designer.
• Perform power, size, mass, Monte Carlo tolerance, and reliability analyses.
• Plan and execute PCBA design verification, qualification, and system integration testing.
• Lead interdisciplinary design reviews and provide manufacturing and flight support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.
• Expertise in solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, analog instrumentation, and digital circuits.
• Ability to use electronic laboratory equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, and soldering irons.
• Availability for hybrid work in Hawthorne, California.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and laying out complex PCBAs.
• Experience performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel.
• Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.
