What you will do

• Study embryo implantation, placental development and function, uterine endometrial stem cells, and maternal-fetal interface dysfunction.
• Design, execute, and interpret rigorous experiments independently while staying current with scientific literature.
• Apply single-cell, spatial, in vitro, surgical, and organoid approaches in mice, rhesus macaques, and human models.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team and communicate findings in meetings, conferences, publications, fellowships, and grants.
• Mentor junior trainees and assist with laboratory maintenance.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Developmental Biology, Reproductive Biology, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, or a related field by the position start date.
• Strong research record demonstrating creativity, independence, analytical thinking, organization, and proficiency with multiple approaches.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to research integrity and contributing to a positive, inclusive laboratory culture.
• Ability to work at the Davis, California research campus and meet the role's physical mobility requirements.

Nice to have

• Bioinformatics experience analyzing single-cell RNA-seq or other high-throughput datasets such as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&Tag, or proteomics.
• Background in developmental, molecular, cellular, reproductive biology, or related disciplines.
