Postdoctoral Associate (Stem Cell Biology)

Salary: $65,589–$75,569 per year, based on postdoctoral experience.

What you will do

• Plan, develop, execute, and analyze an independent research project within the Bennett Lab's focus on hematopoietic stem cell development.
• Investigate how TGF-β/BMP signaling regulates the transition from pre-HSCs to transplantable HSCs.
• Identify molecular regulators of pre-HSC emergence from hemogenic endothelium and maturation into multilineage-engraftable HSCs.
• Map transcriptional states during developmental HSC emergence using single-cell genomics and clonal barcoding.
• Prepare manuscripts, fellowship applications, and conference presentations.
• Mentor junior lab members and contribute to collaborative research projects.

Requirements

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in biological sciences or a related discipline.
• At least one first-author publication from graduate studies or previous postdoctoral work.
• Foundational training in molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, or stem cell biology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in hematopoiesis, stem cell biology, developmental biology, or vascular biology.
• Experience with mouse models, transplantation assays, or in vivo lineage tracing.
• Experience with flow cytometry, cell sorting, and primary cell culture.
• Experience with single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial genomics, lentiviral systems, or clonal barcoding.
• Training in computational biology, bioinformatics, or quantitative data analysis.
