What you will do

• Develop and apply high-throughput selection and screening methods for AAV capsids and gene expression systems.
• Apply gene delivery strategies in in vivo and in vitro disease models.
• Perform molecular biology workflows including plasmid construction, PCR, qPCR, RNA and DNA extraction, detection, and NGS.
• Produce, purify, evaluate, and troubleshoot AAV vectors and related technologies.
• Document, compile, and analyze experimental data; present results in team meetings.
• Contribute to scientific manuscripts, funding agency reports, conference presentations, and supervision of research associates.

Requirements

• PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, or a related discipline.
• 0–1+ years of related experience and hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques.
• Hands-on experience with stereotaxic injections.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability and interest to work in a large, cross-disciplinary, fast-paced research environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NGS, high-throughput screening, immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridization.
• Experience producing gene delivery vectors.
• Knowledge of bioinformatics and statistics.
