TL;DR
Director, Fleet Operations (Transportation Technology): Establishing an accessible and resilient fleet system for Olympic and Paralympic transportation with an accent on demand forecasting, vehicle allocation, dispatch, and fleet technology integration. Focus on building the Fleet Systems team, coordinating time-critical Games operations, and managing readiness, suppliers, budgets, and operational control.

Location: Onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, California, United States; work across offices, venues, operational centers, and fleet environments across the Games footprint. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance. Work may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible or extended hours during peak delivery periods.

Annual base salary: $126,000–$182,000.

LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games is delivering the transportation and operational systems for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

What you will do

  • Establish strategies, operating models, and plans for TX, allocated vehicles, and fleet systems.
  • Translate service levels and competition schedules into demand forecasts, fleet sizing, and vehicle and driver requirements.
  • Define and integrate booking, dispatch, vehicle allocation, GPS/AVL, telematics, and driver application technologies with Games systems.
  • Partner with functional areas, automotive partners, and suppliers while leading readiness simulations and Fleet Operations Center exercises.
  • Direct service-side control of bookings, dispatch, allocations, and service recovery during the Games.
  • Build and lead the Fleet Systems team while managing budgets, schedules, risks, suppliers, and performance indicators.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in fleet operations, mobility, transportation technology, logistics, or major-event operations, including leadership; alternatively, a relevant master’s degree with 6+ years of experience or 10+ years of specialized experience.
  • Experience with demand forecasting, fleet sizing, vehicle allocation, dispatch, and operational control for complex vehicle systems serving multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience implementing or integrating fleet-management systems, booking platforms, GPS/AVL, telematics, and driver applications.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional programs and manage teams, budgets, schedules, risks, and suppliers in time-critical environments.
  • A bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, business, operations, technology, engineering, project management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles and across operational venues and fleet environments is required.

Nice to have

  • PMP or relevant fleet management, transportation, logistics, or technology certification.
  • Experience delivering large-scale fleet or demand-responsive transport programs at the Olympic, Paralympic, or other major events.
  • Experience with accessible and electric-vehicle fleets.
  • Background in corporate fleet, chauffeur, taxi, ride-hail, or other demand-responsive transport.
