Senior Manager, Cluster/Venue Health and Safety

Location: Onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, California, United States, with travel to venue sites across the Los Angeles region. Work locations may vary across LA28 venues during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

Annual base salary: $105,000–$140,000.

LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games is organizing the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

What you will do

• Lead the health and safety technical and governance function across occupational health and safety, environmental and public health, emergency preparedness, and safety training and communication.
• Establish and manage the processes, systems, tools, and large projects that deliver venue health and safety programs.
• Manage and mentor a team of direct-report Safety Managers and support their professional development.
• Act as the primary technical contact for health and safety programs, collaborating with internal customers and peer leaders.
• Ensure programs meet regulatory requirements, including Cal-OSHA, and reflect current industry practice.
• Solve complex safety problems and support operational responsibilities as the Games approach and take place.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of health and safety program management, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
• Specific knowledge of Cal-OSHA requirements.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills across multiple technical safety disciplines.
• Ability to solve complex functional problems using an agile, experience-based approach.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of experience, or a master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience, or 9+ years of specialized work experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles, travel to venue sites, and work variable hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak event periods.

Nice to have

• Experience in a large-scale event or corporate environment.
• Experience developing and implementing health and safety policies from the ground up.
• Professional safety certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
