Director, EHS

Location: Universal City, California; required on-site full-time at an hirify.global-designated worksite. Travel of up to 20% is required.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, bonus and long-term incentive eligible.

Media and entertainment company producing and distributing film, television, streaming, news, and theme park content.

What you will do

• Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, training, and compliance programs.
• Lead inspections, compliance audits, incident and near-miss investigations, and corrective-action programs.
• Manage relationships with Cal/OSHA, fire authorities, AQMD, CUPA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Integrate EHS requirements into studio operations with Legal, Design & Construction, Production Services, and Facilities.
• Manage consultants, contractors, the Contractor Safety Management Program, and Corporate EHS audits.
• Track compliance documentation, inspections, incidents, action items, and metrics in Gensuite and report results to management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in environmental health and safety.
• 5+ years of experience leading and managing EHS programs and projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and drive EHS initiatives.
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills and comfort with enterprise software.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand or walk for at least four hours per day, work at heights and in soundstage environments, and respond to safety emergencies during and outside working hours.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in EHS, engineering, science, or a related field.
• Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist certification.
• Experience with Gensuite and 1–4 years in media, entertainment, or film.
