Major Case Specialist, SRG (Insurance Claims)

What you will do

• Independently manage complex, high-frequency and high-severity claims involving toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct, environmental, excess, and other significant-exposure matters.
• Research historical policies, analyze coverage triggers, allocations, limits, and exclusions, and prepare coverage recommendations for management.
• Investigate liability and damages across multiple jurisdictions, estimate exposures, and advise underwriting partners on loss reserves.
• Develop litigation and resolution strategies, manage counsel, experts, settlement terms, mediations, trials, and claim-related expenses.
• Manage assigned accounts, lead meetings and negotiations, prepare reporting and financial analyses, and present projections to management, actuaries, and legal staff.
• Train, mentor, and technically coach claim professionals; lead special projects and maintain accurate claim files.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in complex insurance claims, coverage determination, toxic tort, latent injury, or environmental claims.
• At least 7 years of experience in toxic tort, latent injury, environmental claims, and coverage determination, or comparable experience.
• Alternatively, at least 4 years of experience handling severe and highly complex liability claims, litigation, or comparable claim litigation or legal work.
• Alternatively, 4 years of bodily injury or property damage claim handling or comparable litigation/legal experience plus 3 years of SRG experience.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Insurance license(s) may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting; ongoing education may be required.
