HVAC Technician (Overnights)

Location: Onsite in Rensselaer, New York, United States. Working hours are Saturday–Wednesday, 10:00pm–8:30am; training is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Salary: $24.76–$38.70 per hour.

What you will do

• Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down HVAC and facility equipment.
• Maintain coolers, freezers, ultra-low-temperature freezers, refrigeration chillers, chilled-water systems, condenser pumps, and air compressors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial air-handling systems.
• Operate the facility-wide building automation system and conduct daily HVAC equipment rounds.
• Participate in rotational on-call coverage for site emergency work.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned work with Facilities Management, internal departments, contractors, and vendors.

Requirements

• AAS degree and relevant experience in air conditioning, heating, chilled-water systems, building automation controls, and maintenance.
• At least 2 years of experience for HVAC Technician II, 5 years for HVAC Technician III, or 8 years for HVAC Technician IV; level depends on qualifications.
• Solid understanding of industrial HVAC systems, including industrial air-handling units.
• EPA certification for refrigeration gases.
• Ability to become fully gown-qualified to work in production areas.
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance while following SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, and quality standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with electronic, PLC, mechanical, and building automation systems in the pharmaceutical industry.
