TL;DR
Cyber Systems Engineer IV – Vulnerability Management (Cybersecurity): Supporting enterprise vulnerability management, RMF, FISMA reporting, and cyber defense activities for a national customer with an accent on vulnerability analysis, remediation tracking, and security metrics. Focus on developing vulnerability reports and asset views, coordinating evidence and closure requests, and integrating cyber analysis with intelligence and operations functions.

Location: Westfields, Virginia; onsite only with no remote or telework allowed. Customer core hours are 09:00–15:00, Monday–Friday, with schedule flexibility based on customer needs.

Projected annual compensation: $115,575.93–$200,964.12.

What you will do

  • Support the IT vulnerability management lifecycle and assess remediation of high-visibility technical vulnerabilities.
  • Develop cyber vulnerability analyses, metrics, reports, asset vulnerability views, and awareness notices.
  • Coordinate government reporting and tasking received from USCYBERCOM, IC-SCC, and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare Inspector General FISMA closure requests and coordinate RMF evidence for EVAR-tracked findings.
  • Research vulnerabilities reported through enterprise security tools and prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Maintain documented processes and Confluence metrics while supporting automation with systems engineers and software developers.

Requirements

  • Active and maintainable TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of experience, master’s degree with 6–8 years, or Ph.D. with 3–5 years.
  • DoD 8570/8140 cyber certification.
  • Experience with the IT vulnerability management lifecycle, RMF, NIST 800-53 technical controls, and certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Strong analytical, risk management, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work onsite during customer core hours and with limited supervision.

Nice to have

  • STEM degree or advanced information assurance certification.
  • Experience with SNOW, Splunk, ACAS, or Cross Domain Systems.
  • IC or DoD cybersecurity experience, including acquisition or project management support.
  • Experience briefing senior customer personnel and managing multiple customer requests.
