Mid/Sr. Cyber Tools Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. Remote and telework are not available. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $135,000–$145,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, deploy, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity tools.
• Maintain the availability and integrity of endpoint security, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and container security platforms.
• Assess infrastructure and application architectures, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend technical mitigations.
• Execute patching, apply STIGs and Security Classification Guides, and maintain continuous compliance documentation.
• Consolidate cybersecurity telemetry and scan data into compliance reports and brief government and contract leadership.
• Coordinate cybersecurity engineering activities with ISSO, operations, test teams, customers, and stakeholders while mentoring junior tools engineers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience configuring, maintaining, and engineering enterprise cybersecurity tools.
• At least 6 months of management or leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with STIGs, patching, and Security Classification Guides.
• Direct experience supporting MDA customers within the IRES contract.
• Current DoW 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+.
• Active DoW Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting MDA customers within COS MDIOC at Schriever Space Force Base and familiarity with MDSEA operations.
• Experience with Trellix ESS/HBSS, Elastic, ArcSight, Prisma, Delinea, ACAS, or Nessus.
• Understanding of RMF, eMass, CTO, ATO, and POA&M lifecycles.
• Experience preparing security controls and documentation for CVT, CVPA, and ATO renewal assessments.
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to translate complex tool data into actionable leadership briefings.
