TL;DR
Aircraft Mechanic (Aviation Maintenance): Maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and supporting manned and unmanned aircraft systems through development, testing, and operational phases with an accent on airframe, powerplant, avionics, electrical systems, and flight-line operations. Focus on troubleshooting complex aircraft faults, maintaining regulatory and safety compliance, and supporting field deployments and flight tests.

Location: Elizabethtown, North Carolina; work at various test sites and austere field locations may be required. Travel and deployment with relatively short notice may be required, with travel expected to be less than 25%.

hirify.global operates an Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance division supporting developmental aircraft and flight and ground operations.

What you will do

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, assembly, and disassembly on manned and unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Troubleshoot and replace defective airframe, engine, avionics, electrical, mechanical, RF, and line-replaceable-unit components.
  • Support aircraft development, configuration testing, flight tests, demonstrations, and operational missions.
  • Develop and manage aviation ground and flight operation procedures, maintenance manuals, training programs, and technology insertion activities.
  • Maintain accurate digital and paper logbooks, maintenance records, technical documentation, inventories, tool control, FOD control, and parts accounting.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, logistics, and operational personnel to resolve technical issues and maintain mission readiness.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with at least 7 years of aviation maintenance operations experience.
  • At least 3 years of Group 3–5 UAS maintenance operations experience and prior aviation maintenance leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, technical manuals, flight-line procedures, airworthiness, FAA and ICAO standards, and safety requirements.
  • Experience installing and maintaining electrical systems, reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical faults, and using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • U.S. citizenship, an active SECRET DoD security clearance, an FAA Class 3 medical certification, and a clean background check are required.
  • Ability to work outdoors for 12-hour shifts in extreme weather, at heights or in confined spaces, and to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with developmental or experimental aircraft.
  • Experience working in deployed or OCONUS aviation environments.
  • Ability to obtain Crew Chief Instructor designation after six months.
