Controls and Electrical Systems Technician

What you will do

• Troubleshoot industrial equipment, interpret machine status indicators, and identify potential failure points.
• Maintain, test, and repair PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, power distribution equipment, relays, contactors, transformers, and related controls.
• Read, interpret, update, and communicate electrical drawings and schematics.
• Perform root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, and improvements to maintenance management systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, mechanical, process, and reliability teams on equipment design, installation, startup, maintenance, safety, and operations.
• Support quality, safety, compliance, 5S, housekeeping, and equipment safety initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance or technical support experience.
• Strong experience with PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, including PLC programming and troubleshooting; GE/Emerson and Siemens platforms are preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks, including Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O, Serial, and Ethernet systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across technical teams.
• Flexibility to support 24/7 operations, overtime requirements, and required equipment certifications.
• An associate degree in Industrial Systems, Electrical/Electronics Technology, or a related field is preferred; relevant technical certifications are a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with extrusion, plastics, web handling, or winding equipment.
• CCST Level I certification or willingness to obtain it with company support.
