Manufacturing Engineer - Controls

What you will do

• Design, program, test, and support PLC-based control systems for manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Support custom automation equipment, new product introductions, equipment qualifications, and process transfers.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, automation, and controls issues to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Lead equipment upgrades, new installations, and process improvement projects.
• Create and maintain electrical drawings, control narratives, equipment documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Apply root cause analysis, Lean Manufacturing principles, and corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, controls engineering, production engineering, or continuous improvement in an industrial or regulated environment.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial automation equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical design, industrial networking, instrumentation, and control system architecture.
• Experience reading and creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing and industrial chemical processing environment, wear required PPE, and support off-shift troubleshooting when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in filtration, separation, bioprocessing, medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk, or other industrial automation platforms.
• Experience with validation, commissioning, and qualification of automated manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, OEE improvement initiatives, data acquisition, or SCADA systems.
