TL;DR
Human Resources Director (Media): Leading strategic and operational HR initiatives across multiple Nexstar work locations supporting approximately 1,800 union and non-union employees with an accent on performance management, organizational development, employee relations, and labor relations. Focus on advising senior leaders, resolving workplace and labor issues, ensuring employment-law compliance, and coordinating HR operations across locations.

Location: Irving, Texas, or another Nexstar U.S. market with a full-time local-news newsroom; onsite role.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annualized, based on experience and skills.

What you will do

  • Provide strategic and operational HR leadership across assigned work locations.
  • Align people strategies with business objectives and lead planning, coaching, development, and performance-management initiatives.
  • Advise senior leaders and management teams on HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Partner with Labor & Employment Counsel on investigations, corrective actions, grievances, and labor-relations matters.
  • Identify training needs and support the development and delivery of leadership and employee training plans.
  • Manage regional HR workflows, operations, compliance, and cross-functional strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience across multiple locations.
  • Experience supporting managers in complex, fast-paced organizations.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and general business practices.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, organization, facilitation, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer and willing to submit to a background investigation.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in HR management or business administration.
  • Experience in a union environment.
  • Previous television or entertainment industry experience.
