TL;DR

Security Control Assessor Representative (SCAR) (Cybersecurity/RMF): Providing hands-on Assessment & Authorization support for Space Systems Command enterprise networks, mission-critical systems, and sensitive data with an accent on RMF compliance, cyber-hardening, and mission assurance. Focus on managing eMASS authorization packages, tracking compliance findings, assessing DoD cybersecurity directives, and validating security controls through ST&E and penetration testing.

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; travel is required during onsite assessments

Salary: $160,000+ annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

Support the Authorizing Official and Security Control Assessor with the DoD Risk Management Framework process and Road to ATO activities.
Provide cybersecurity engineering expertise for enterprise mission systems and support Assessment & Authorization activities.
Develop, update, and manage Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) entries and coordinate authorization packages.
Maintain and report on certification and authorization schedules, package status, and system registrations in ITIPS.
Research the impact of DoD, USSF, DIA, and DISA cybersecurity directives on mission system security posture.
Support vulnerability management, Security Test & Evaluation, penetration testing, and revalidation of cybersecurity controls.

Requirements

Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with a current investigation.
15+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting USSF, DoD, or related federal organizations.
Experience with Risk Management Framework protocols and USSF Assessment & Authorization procedures.
Hands-on experience with eMASS.
CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM certification.

Nice to have

Prior SCA, SCAR, or ASCA experience within DoD and USSF.
CISSP, GIAC, or an equivalent advanced cybersecurity certification.
Technical MA or MS degree.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with attention to detail.
Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills.
