Cyber Systems Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Home, Virginia; 100% remote work allowed. Must support customer core hours from 09:00 to 15:00, Monday through Friday.

Salary: $88,533.15–$175,744.92 per year.

What you will do

• Assess existing system designs and evaluate cybersecurity and safety posture.
• Produce gap analyses against relevant government standards, including NIST and CISA guidance.
• Develop roadmaps to achieve compliance with government cybersecurity standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering teams to integrate cybersecurity into systems architecture models.
• Define, trace, and update cybersecurity controls and artifacts within the Systems Architecture Model.
• Brief customer and government stakeholders on cybersecurity posture and mitigation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, including demonstrated range safety knowledge.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity principles and systems engineering, including configuration management, requirements management, architecture, and interfaces.
• Must support customer core hours from 09:00 to 15:00, Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• DoD 8570/8140 cyber certification.
• Experience with security assessment tools, network security, RMF, ACAS, and eMASS.
• Experience preparing for and supporting information assurance audits.
• Experience supporting IC or DoD cybersecurity programs and briefing senior customer personnel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
