Weld Associate-1 (MIG Welding)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Pay rate: $19.95–$21.00 per hour; second shift, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.

What you will do

• Join, fabricate, and repair carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components using appropriate welding techniques.
• Read blueprints and job procedures to select the appropriate welding process.
• Perform MIG/GMAW welding, basic fit-up operations, and weldment measurements.
• Inspect completed welds for structural soundness and maintain quality standards.
• Meet production requirements and follow OSHA and workplace safety rules.
• Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with repetitive machine operation and significant physical activity.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or a combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of relevant experience preferred.
• MIG/GMAW welding of carbon steel required.
• Ability to interpret welding blueprints and call-outs.
• Ability to read English and legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong math, measurement, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to lift or move items over 50 pounds.
