Group Lead - Weld - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Riceville, Iowa, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Pay range: $25–$42.64 per hour

McNeilus, an hirify.global company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies, including rear-load, front-load, and automated side-load models.

What you will do

• Motivate, assign work to, and lead department team members through hands-on work.
• Monitor and adjust workflow, work priorities, schedules, and material availability.
• Perform product inspections and evaluate quality before products leave the area.
• Track inventory, communicate material shortages, and complete manufacturing paperwork.
• Address employee concerns and support team morale in coordination with the Production Supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience performing all tasks within the department.
• Ability to demonstrate most departmental tasks and lead by example.
• Acceptable attendance record with four or fewer attendance points during the previous 12 months.

Nice to have

• Associate or technical degree.
• Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, including value stream mapping, 5S, the Seven General Types of Waste, and project planning.
