Maintenance & Engineering Lead (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead safe, compliant maintenance and engineering operations in accordance with site procedures, PSM requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Own and improve preventive and predictive maintenance, work management, planning, scheduling, backlog discipline, and SAP CMMS data quality.
• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of three maintenance technicians while providing hands-on troubleshooting support.
• Serve as the primary process and production engineering resource, resolving issues affecting safety, quality, throughput, yield, and variability.
• Lead small capital projects, equipment upgrades, process modifications, MOC activities, and technical documentation.
• Use KPIs and structured problem-solving to improve reliability, reduce downtime and costs, increase energy efficiency, and strengthen operational performance.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading maintenance activities or small teams, with a hands-on and field-oriented leadership style.
• Strong mechanical and/or process engineering knowledge, troubleshooting ability, and cross-functional influence.
• Experience in a PSM-regulated facility and participation in PHAs.
• Experience with CMMS systems, including SAP or an equivalent platform.
• Ability to work onsite at the Morganton, North Carolina facility.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience building maintenance and reliability programs in chemical or process manufacturing.
• Knowledge of RCFA, FMEA, predictive technologies, small capital project management, control logic, and PLCs.
