Operations Engineering Lead (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Decatur, Alabama, USA. Eligible candidates must meet specified U.S. citizenship, nationality, permanent residence, temporary residence, refugee, or asylum status requirements.

What you will do

• Lead and optimize daily PAN and carbon fiber manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Troubleshoot production, equipment, and process issues and minimize downtime through rapid corrective action.
• Drive process improvement initiatives focused on yield, throughput, cycle time, and plant efficiency.
• Plan and implement new line startups, qualifications, engineering changes, and factory automation activities.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for complex product, process, and equipment issues.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain while mentoring engineers and operators and leading improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related engineering with 7+ years of experience, or a master’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Manufacturing experience and demonstrated ability to lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Capability and interest in progressing toward operations management and site leadership.
• Experience with cross-functional leadership and mentoring.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
• Required U.S. immigration or citizenship status as specified in the posting.
