System Engineer VI - Principal (Naval Combat Systems)

What you will do

• Support the integration of AEGIS Weapon System elements into certified AEGIS and ballistic missile defense baselines.
• Perform combat system certification assessments covering mission effectiveness, capabilities, limitations, and deployment risks.
• Translate certification-critical defects into operational risks, impacts, and guidance.
• Gather, assess, and maintain Objective Quality Evidence for certification.
• Prepare engineering assessment reports, status reports, briefings, and other certification documentation.
• Brief and collaborate with senior Department of Defense and Department of the Navy personnel while improving enterprise certification processes and tools.

Requirements

• 12 years of general U.S. Navy surface combat systems engineering experience.
• Experience with combat system, warfare system, or element certification processes.
• Current DoD Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or 15 years of U.S. Navy surface warfare experience in lieu of the degree.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and written and oral communication skills.
