Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana, US, or Armonk, New York, US. The role includes less than 25% travel for conferences, client meetings, audits, training meetings, and underwriting meetings.
Base salary: $70,000 per year. Candidates with advanced degrees may be eligible for higher base compensation; short-term incentives and other benefits are excluded.

What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of Life & Health claims from first notification through final resolution.
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle mortality, group life, accidental death, disability income, and waiver of premium claims.
- Review policy terms, coverage provisions, medical information, financial information, and claim documentation to determine eligibility and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate claim files, conduct claim reviews, and respond to client inquiries.
- Partner with underwriters and internal stakeholders on coverage discussions, claims consultation, reporting, trend analysis, and business intelligence.
- Support claims process, system, operational, risk-management, regulatory, and cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- Completed or soon-to-be-completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Finance, Pre-Law, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and no more than three years of professional experience.
- Strong analytical, data-management, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and business partners.
- Interest in insurance, risk management, claims, and a long-term career in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
- Willingness to obtain required adjuster licensing.
