Claims Analyst IV

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; primarily in the office with flexibility to work from home

Salary: $76,000–$103,000 base salary annually for positions based in New Jersey, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve primarily general liability claims, with some auto liability claims.
• Analyze coverage, liability, and damages while documenting facts and maintaining supporting evidence.
• Establish and continuously review loss and expense reserves with documented rationale.
• Manage assigned claim inventory through diary systems and maintain timely claim updates.
• Handle complex litigated cases and prepare large loss reports to support timely and cost-effective outcomes.
• Communicate with insureds, internal stakeholders, external customers, and account partners while meeting regulatory and company standards.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of general liability claims experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience resolving moderate-severity injury claims.
• Knowledge of claims handling procedures, best practices, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, and multitasking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
• Property and casualty licenses are required and must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Nice to have

• Experience handling self-insured retentions and surplus lines coverages.
• Experience partnering with MGAs.
• Multi-state adjuster licenses.
