Hospital Inpatient Coder (Revenue Integrity)

hirify.global's Revenue Integrity Department supports medical coding for Elliot Hospital and its professional providers.

What you will do

• Assign ICD-10 and DRG codes to hospital inpatient services according to current coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulations.
• Interpret office, operative, and procedure notes and assign compliant codes and modifiers.
• Support clinical documentation integrity, timely coding, optimal reimbursement, and denial prevention.
• Collaborate with providers and coding leadership to resolve coding discrepancies.
• Maintain a minimum 95% coding accuracy rate through quality assurance and internal and external audits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of medical coding experience.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification.
• Knowledge of healthcare coding and documentation audits and appeals.
• Ability to consistently and reliably meet deadlines.
