Coding Auditor Senior (Medical Coding)

What you will do

• Audit and report on documentation, coding, and billing performed at system entities.
• Identify audit deficiencies and develop and deliver related training programs and educational materials.
• Consult with management, provide written guidance, and help assess and respond to external audit findings.
• Maintain expertise in DRGs, CPT, ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure coding, CMS regulations, and Coding Clinic references.
• Mentor staff and serve as a subject matter expert in coding and auditing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and RHIA certification, or 10 years of medical-record experience with a qualifying coding or health information certification.
• At least 7 years of hospital coding and auditing experience, including experience with educational techniques and methods.
• Proficiency in DRGs, National Correct Coding Initiatives, ICD-10 Official Guidelines, OPPS, and Coding Clinic references.
• Knowledge of reimbursement systems and health information regulations, including HIPAA and CMS requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, writing, reporting, presentation, and training-material preparation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Master’s degree.
