Director of Operations (Manufacturing)

Location: Middleton, Wisconsin, USA; responsibility for production locations in Middleton and Monroe, Wisconsin.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day operations across assembly, fabrication, and materials functions at a multi-facility operation.
• Develop the operations team, manage performance, and build a high-performing culture with clear communication.
• Manage production schedules, manufacturing controls, operational metrics, budgets, and the operational P&L.
• Maintain quality controls and ensure machines meet internal standards, customer requirements, delivery targets, and cost objectives.
• Identify production-floor challenges and coordinate practical solutions with engineering, supply chain, senior leadership, vendors, and other departments.
• Oversee operational systems, inventory controls, facility organization, and planned maintenance for buildings, equipment, and support systems.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 5 years of management experience.
• Experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment and a strong technical background.
• Knowledge of mechatronic machinery and automated equipment.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited direction and take a hands-on approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; a bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
