Location: Lanham, Maryland; project work in the Mid-Atlantic with out-of-town travel of up to several weeks at a time

Salary: USD $60.74–$76.92 per hour

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, perform, and document commissioning activities for utility substation protection, control, and power circuits from pre-commissioning through project closeout.
• Review wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering documents, and manufacturer specifications before projects and outages.
• Troubleshoot protection and control systems, substation equipment, wiring, settings, apparatus test results, and battery ground faults.
• Develop testing, commissioning, energization, and site risk assessment plans, including circuit isolation and restoration procedures.
• Perform equipment testing, interpret results, and prepare or approve detailed test reports.
• Participate in project meetings and provide progress, issue, recommendation, test, and analysis documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in testing and commissioning services; electric utility experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction and manufacturer drawings, specifications, schematic diagrams, and one-line and three-line interconnection diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical protection systems, relay communication, AC/DC schematics, wiring, and medium- and high-voltage substation or power plant equipment.
• Experience with substation utility protection and control circuit testing and commissioning, or the ability to learn these methods quickly.
• Current US work eligibility and a valid US driver's license issued by the state of residence are required.
• Availability for extended travel, flexible hours, weekends, overtime, holidays, and night work; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Doble Protection Suite, ProTest, SEL AcSELerator, or Enoserv RTS.
