Project Manager - Project Manager Sr (Utilities)

Location: On-site in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with work at various AEP locations and travel typically up to 25%

Salary: $99,000–$128,700 per year; compensation range up to $128,688

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close intermediate and complex projects in a matrix team environment.
• Manage project and outage plans, schedules, budgets, funding reallocations, cost controls, and reporting.
• Lead planning meetings, stakeholder presentations, project updates, and communications with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Manage procurement plans, requests for proposals, competitive bids, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance.
• Support safety processes, quality improvement, risk mitigation, customer satisfaction, and project closeout analysis.
• Mentor project managers and supervise sub-team project managers and assigned project activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or a related field with five years of qualified experience for the senior level; equivalent associate degree or high school pathways are available with additional experience.
• Two years of Project Manager experience or demonstrated equivalent competencies for the senior level.
• Experience in project management, major construction, estimating, project controls, project engineering, or comparable production environments with increasing responsibility.
• Knowledge of construction safety, negotiations, scope control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls, reporting, quality control, and risk management.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Ability to work on-site, perform light physical duties, access construction and power plant sites, and work in hazardous areas where applicable.

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems.
• PMP certification.
