TL;DR
Specialist Product Support Engineer (Industrial Adhesives & Tapes): Leading technically complex product support and improvement programs for structural and sprayable adhesive product families with an accent on product reliability, change management, supply continuity, and customer-focused enhancements. Focus on driving cross-functional product changes, analyzing performance and manufacturing data, managing product risks and safety, and supporting commercialization.

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States; at least four days per week at the hirify.global Center. Travel may include up to 10%. Relocation may be authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $145,676–$178,049 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

  • Lead technically complex product support and improvement programs for structural and sprayable adhesive product families.
  • Drive change management, new product introduction support, product design and raw material changes, localization, quality improvement, and lifecycle management.
  • Serve as a technical resource on product performance, customer needs, manufacturing capabilities, market requirements, and competitive factors.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply chain, marketing, product management, and global technical teams.
  • Provide data-based recommendations on testing, manufacturing readiness, risk mitigation, safety, reliability, and commercialization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in materials or polymer science, chemical engineering, or chemistry.
  • At least seven years of experience in product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, or research laboratory work.
  • Experience analyzing product performance, customer requirements, manufacturing data, laboratory results, and quality trends.
  • Ability to lead technically complex projects, manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders across functions and organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • English proficiency is required, and employment authorization in the United States without visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with adhesive technologies, sealants, polymeric materials, or related chemical and material systems.
  • Experience with pilot batches, production trials, manufacturing troubleshooting, and physical, chemical, or mechanical testing.
  • Experience with product risk assessments, safety reviews, reliability evaluations, customer complaint investigations, or quality improvement.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, scientists, technicians, or cross-functional project members.
